I am a copywriter.

That means I play with words. Been playing with ’em a long time.

Here’s something I learned pretty young:

Nobody will remember you if you have a forgettable voice.
Nobody will give a flying frittata about your perfectly written, grammatically correct copy — unless it’s got a dose of charm.
Templates are great, but it’s about a million times easier to stand out in a crowded market (no matter what you’re selling) if you lead with humanity.
Having a sense of humor, having the guts to be goofy — that creates magic.
(It’s what landed you here, right? “Rosie the Writerer?” I mean, how ridiculous is that for a business name?!)

That playful vulnerability creates connection in a world where we’re all a little lonely.

You need to speak to people like someone they’re dying to hear from.
Like a human.
And I say “speak” because the words you choose to use online are your voice.
They’re your signature. Your fingerprint.
And they’re either going to unlock connection with people or turn ’em off faster than you can say “10x your ROI!”

Getting attention online is more than filling in a template and checking a bunch of boxes.

You need to move people.

And I’m well-rounded. I was one of those dweeby weirdo kids, constantly fluttering between social groups, chameleoning my way through high school. Through life. I’m highly sensitive. I can read a room.
You want to stand out. You want to be remembered. You want to have your brand be able to reach people. And to do that, you need to touch people.
Me, I believe in splitting right down the middle between humor and heart.
(There’s a reason why the “tears of joy” emoji is my most-used punctuation mark, people.)
When we make people laugh and also move them emotionally, we catch ’em off guard.
When we get people to say “huh!” or smile or raise their eyebrow or snort out loud to themselves when they’re reading words on a screen… it’s like we’re reaching through the internet and tapping them on the shoulder. “Hey. I know you.”

Your copy can’t just sit there.

It isn’t just a bunch of words.

It’s a song you’re singing to your customers, day after day, every single time someone reads a group of words that represent you online. Are your customers skimming through your Instagram bio? Scrolling through your site? Eyeballing your sales page?
You could be hitting the right notes.
Or you could be missing them by the length of a football field.
The words you pick to represent you online are holy.
Because they’re nurturing a relationship.
And I am HONORED to be able to help entrepreneurs with this.
It’s not something I take lightly. It’s a big responsibility.
